He was given a 12-week timeframe to return, meaning he would be back in mid-December, but he is confident he can be playing before then.
"It’s frustrating. I’m a terrible spectator when I’m not on the pitch," the 27-year-old said. "The toe’s not too bad. I was supposed to be playing in December but hopefully I can push the boundaries and be quicker than that.
"If I can play a couple of games in December before January and prove myself then I will hopefully be in with a shout for the Six Nations."

Monye said it was a big wrench to be missing Europe’s premier club rugby tournament, but challenged his team-mates to hit back this season.
"It’s so romantic and when it gets to the quarters and the semi-finals, you just want to be there.
"It’s a shame Harlequins aren’t in it at the moment but we’re in the Amlin Challenge Cup which is a great tournament and it’s up to us to make sure we’re back next season."
